Membership Fees

Whether you want to play in the Tuesday competition or stay connected off the diamond, there’s a membership option for you.

  • Standard Player Membership — $140

  • First Nations / Mob Player Membership — $100

  • Concession Player Membership — $75

  • Social Membership - $50

  • Player Access Support — available confidentially (See below)

Concession & Discounted Memberships

Concession Player Membership — $75

You qualify if at least one of the following applies:

  • you are under 25;

  • you hold a current Pensioner Concession Card;

  • you hold a Health Care Card or Low Income Health Care Card; or

  • you are a current full-time student at a recognised secondary, vocational or tertiary institution.

We may request reasonable evidence of eligibility.

First Nations / Mob Player Membership — $100

This rate is available to players who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander / Mob, of any gender.

Discounted-rate applications are reviewed respectfully and confidentially by current Sydney Outfielders players who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander / Mob. This review relates only to the discounted rate—it does not determine whether someone is eligible to join or play.

Which membership is right for you?

Standard, Concession and First Nations / Mob memberships are all Player Memberships and provide the same core benefits, including team allocation and participation in the main Tuesday competition. Social Members cannot play or substitute in Tuesday competition games unless they formally convert to Player Membership and are allocated to a team. If a suitable playing position becomes available during the season, Social Members receive priority access to apply for an upgrade, subject to team-composition requirements. All Player and Social Members can take part in our Saturday softball programme, including training and social pick-up games, subject to weather, scheduling and capacity.

How registration works

We release places in stages to manage league capacity and maintain balanced mixed-gender teams.

  • 15th August - Round 01 | Priority registration opens for Training Academy participants, women, gender-diverse players and First Nations/Mob players of any gender, recruited players, and eligible 25/26 returning players.

  • 31st August, 11:59pm | Deadline for invited returning and recruited players to complete their form and required payment to guarantee their place. Waitlist closes temporarily.

  • 1st September - Round 02 | Remaining places are offered to those who signed up to the waitlist prior to September 1st.

  • 4th September, 7:00pm |  Rounds 1 and 2 close.

  • 5th September - Round 3 |  General registration opens across all streams where places remain.

  • 24 September, 12:00pm | Registration closes—or earlier if the league reaches capacity.

Places in each stream are subject to availability, team-composition requirements and the player-allocation process.

New players

Submit the new-player form by selecting from your registration stream below—there is nothing to pay when you apply. If we can offer you a place, we’ll email you with your membership rate, payment instructions and deadline. You will normally have seven days to complete payment.

Your place is confirmed only when all applicable requirements are complete and you receive a confirmation email from Sydney Outfielders.

Returning and captain-recruited players

Complete the correct form and required payment by 11:59pm on 31st August. First Nations/Mob applicants and anyone requesting Player Access Support should submit their form and wait for private instructions before paying.

Submitting a form, joining a waitlist or speaking with a captain does not by itself confirm a playing place.

 Social Membership

Social Membership is for past players, friends, partners, supporters, injured players and community members who want to stay involved without joining the main Tuesday competition.

Cost: $50

Social Members receive:

  • Discounted access to member events and benefits;

  • access to our Saturday softball programme, including training and social pick-up games during the first seven weeks of the season;

  • opportunities to volunteer and support the Association;

  • priority access to suitable playing vacancies that become available in the Tuesday competition; and

  • a way to stay active and connected with the Outfielders community.

Saturday softball is available to both Player and Social Members and is subject to weather, field availability, scheduling and capacity.

Social Members are not permitted to play or substitute in competitive Tuesday games. If a suitable position becomes available, a Social Member may be offered the opportunity to upgrade to Player Membership. They must complete the upgrade, pay any applicable fee difference and be formally allocated to a team as a player before participating in the Tuesday competition.

PLAYER ACCESS FUND

The Player Access Fund has been made possible through donations from current Sydney Outfielders members. It helps welcome players who would otherwise face a financial barrier to joining the league or obtaining the essential equipment needed to participate.

Depending on individual circumstances and available funds, confidential support may include:

  • assistance with membership fees;

  • a reduced membership rate;

  • additional time or a payment arrangement;

  • assistance with a playing jersey;

  • a glove, footwear or other essential equipment; or

  • another reasonable arrangement that helps you participate.

Select Player Access Support in your registration form and provide only the information you’re comfortable sharing. Please do not make a payment until we contact you privately about the available support and next steps.

Requesting support will not negatively affect consideration of your registration or team allocation.

Questions?

Email info@sydneyoutfielders.org.au if you’re unsure which form to use, require an accessibility adjustment or would prefer to discuss your circumstances privately.

By applying for membership, you agree to follow the Sydney Outfielders Constitution, rules, policies, codes of conduct and competition requirements made available to members.
